ISAC recently launched CYTO University (CYTO U), its new, online portal for cytometry education, at CYTOU.org
. CYTO U features both image and flow cytometry education and includes courses, webinars and recordings such as CYTO 2013 tutorials and PreCongress Courses. All CYTO U education is free to ISAC members and available for a nominal fee to nonmembers.
The heart of CYTO U will be a set of multi-module courses on flow and image cytometry technologies and applications. These courses are designed, written, and reviewed by experts in ISAC and the wider cytometry communities and presented in an on-line format with self evaluations. Our first course on Biosafety is in the final stages of production now, and additional courses on Cell Proliferation Analysis, Apoptosis and Cell Death, and Overview of Image Cytometry are scheduled for completion in the first half of 2014. CYTO U also features other content, including recorded sessions from the CYTO conference, a regular webinar series that kicked off in January 2014 with Mark-Anthony Bray's presentation Using CellProfiler for Biological Image Analysis (available as a recording now), and other features designed to enable cytometrists from around the world the interact with leaders in the field and with each other.
Free access to CYTO U education is a benefit of ISAC Membership. For current ISAC members, your user login and password to CYTO U are the same user login and password you have for the members-only section of the ISAC Web site. If you remember your user login to the ISAC Web site but cannot remember your password, you can obtain your password from the ISAC Web site by clicking on the link “forgot your password?”.
