September 4, 2018

What is the IMISP?
The ISAC Marylou Ingram Scholars Program (IMISP) is a five-year career development program designed to enhance the scientific and leadership experiences of leaders in the field of cytometry. Now in its 12th consecutive year, it is a community of approximately 25 cytometrists at similar stages in their careers.

Why should I apply?
The IMISP is internationally recognized as one of Science’s most successful and prestigious leadership development programs. In addition to leadership training, mentorship with another ISAC member, and numerous presentation opportunities, the program offers a complimentary membership in the Society, a subscription to Cytometry Part A, free registration and partial travel funding to attend the annual conference, and other invaluable professional development activities.

Who is eligible?
Candidates who have received their relevant doctoral degree within six years of the date of the application are eligible to apply, particularly those specializing in state-of-the-art biomedicine, technology, and other areas of emerging sciences relevant to cytometry.  These requirements may be waived in exceptional circumstances to be evaluated on an individual basis.

How do I apply?
Applications for the 2019-2023 term are being accepted until October 30, 2018.  The application process includes submitting an online form, a CV, two letters of recommendation, and a brief essay.  Awards are highly competitive and awardees are chosen by the ISAC Marylou Ingram Scholars Program Committee.
