Lensfree On-chip Cytometry and Diagnostics (LUCAS)
This is a lensless microscope that can identify pathogens in blood and water samples designed for use in remote areas. It works by shinning light from a tiny LED bulb through a sample. Images are captured using parts of a modern cell phone. The device collects what are in essence holograms to identify microorganisms. B.
