ISAC Lecture Report - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

September 3, 2018

On September 2nd, 2018, at the Advanced Cytometry Course in Amsterdam was held as pre-congress workshop to the 5th European Congress of Immunology, and provided the 40 participants from all over Europe with lectures by experts in the field covering various aspects of flow cytometry from instrumentation to multi-parameter analysis and detection of rare antigen-specific cells.

Hyun-Dong Chang, head of the Technology Platform for Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting at the DRFZ, organized the Satellite Symposium.

The ISAC-Lecture of Diether Recktenwald, Desatoya LLC, Reno USA, gave insights about "Advanced technologies of flow cytometry” into established, newly developed and upcoming technologies in flow cytometry. This was a kind of introductory lecture to set the stage for the more specific lectures that has followed his talk:
  • Analyses of rare cells – Andrea Cossarizza, Italy,
  • Multi-color panel design and standardizations – Tomas Kalina, Czech Republic
  • Multi-dimensional data analysis – Sofie Van Gassen, Belgium
  • Analysis of intracellular proteins – Hyun-Dong Chang, Germany

We would like to thank the International Society of Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC), which supported Diether Recktenwald’s lecture.

Our vision is to advance the impact of cytometry in meeting current and emerging challenges in the life, biomedical, and physical sciences.
