Pushing the Limits of Clinical Cytometry

Another free Webinar from CYTO U

Presented by:

Jonni Moore

Professor, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, PA

About the Presenter

Dr. Moore has over 30 years of experience in clinical and research flow cytometry.  She has led one of the largest flow cytometry and cell sorting shared resource labs since 1992 and was founding director of the Clinical Flow Cytometry Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her current focus is on deep phenotyping in translational and clinical settings and the development of liquid biopsies utilizing ultra-sensitive flow cytometry.

In 2016 she received the Wallace H. Coulter Distinguished Lecturer Award for lifetime contributions to the science, education and practice of Clinical Cytometry. Being in the unique position of leadership in both clinical and research flow cytometry laboratories, she focuses on the movement of novel translational assays to the clinical arena.

Webinar Summary

This webinar will focus on the recent new technologies that are expanding the reach of translational and clinical cytometry, not only in traditional areas, but also in new areas like solid tumors and cardiovascular diseases. The power of the technology to provide important information in these settings will be highlighted as well as the necessity for bio-computational approaches for both current and developing applications.

Who Should Attend this Webinar

Clinicians, lab directors, technologists and scientists who are interested in translational and clinical cytometry.

Webinar Objectives

1.    To highlight new technologies that can extend the reach of clinical cytometry
2.    To highlight new disciplines that are emerging in clinical cytometry
3.    To introduce the role of bio-computation in the clinical realm
4.    To stimulate interest in the opportunities for development in the translational/clinical area

CYTO University

CYTO University is an online educational resource created by ISAC for its members and the wider cytometry community. In addition to free webinars, CYTO U presents recorded courses and tutorials from the CYTO Conference, as well as interactive online courses on a variety of cytometry topics. These are available at no cost to ISAC members and for a nominal charge for non-members. Webinars are free for all.

Our vision is to advance the impact of cytometry in meeting current and emerging challenges in the life, biomedical, and physical sciences.
