ISAC looks to serve several interest groups within its membership. Core Managers are one of these and for the past few years there has been a Core Managers Task Force set up to address the needs of this group. These pages are an initial attempt to disseminate information that we hope will be useful to (a) new managers (b) people who are interested in setting up a Core Facility and (c) current managers who want to expand or are looking at alternative strategies.
We have tried to use a tree approach here and divided what we consider the main components of the Core Facility Managers job into three areas - Facilities, Fiscal and Organisation (click on the links in the menu). Within each main branch we have subdivided into a few important categories and within each of those, the details that will hopefully help managers. These pages are very much a work in progress and can be shaped by any member of ISAC. We are keen to hear from you! Please contact us with any comments, content, useful links etc. This site will only be useful if it provides what YOU want.
