Biosafety is particular important when considering cell sorters that produce aerosols. Depending on the geographical location of your Laboratory, different rules may apply to the classification of the types of potentially infectious material that can be handled.
 

The Biosafety Committee of ISAC has drawn up guidlelines but these would also have to be considered alongside legislation that applies in the country of use.
