Senior Medical Technologist – Flow Cytometry

Position Summary:

  • Performs staff Medical Technologist duties. 
  • Under general supervision of and in close cooperation with supervisor, assists in the daily organization and oversight of work activities.
  • Provides technical assistance, training, and leadership to staff and students.  Verifies competency of staff.
  • Under the direction of the Medical/Scientific Director establishes and maintains documentation of the quality control and performance improvement programs in the section.
  • Responsible for establishment of technical procedures and documentation necessary for licensing and accrediting agencies.
  • Fulfills requirements of General  supervisor as described by HCFA in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in coursework in scientific field as defined by American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) with certification at the Technologist level by the ASCP preferred. If equivalent coursework clause is used, degree must be completed within 18 months from the start date in the position. Minimum one year previous experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist required.  Leadership and Interpersonal communication skills needed for interaction with all members of the healthcare team. Experience in Flow Cytometry required.
