Technical Specialist in Flow Cytometry


Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Bioscience Core Lab (BCL) at KAUST. We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative specialist to join the Cytometry Team at our facility. The technical specialist will play a key role in providing advanced techniques and  expertise in flow cytometry to the KAUST research community.

The role focuses on operating highly specialized cytometry instruments (such as BD influx and BD Fortessa). It also includes method development and optimization, as well as the advising of facility users on research projects. There will also be ample opportunities to contribute to other areas of the BCL, such as proteomics or high throughput sequencing. The Core Labs are cooperative in ethos being service and support oriented.

Major Responsibilities

• Independent operation and management of flow cytometry instruments
• Research advice on project needs
• The provision of basic trainings in flow cytometry and high content screening to facility users
• The development of new methodologies and protocols under supervision

Qualifications

• BSc degree or above in Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields
• At least 3 years experience in cell sorting
• Demonstrated scientific expertise and knowledge in the field of flow cytometry
• Excellent written and oral English
