ISAC is working hard to advocate for an increased amount of funding for science. In the US at least, we are very much dependent upon the NIH and NSF to fund the research and provide funding for large instruments such as flow cytometers and confocal microscopes.

Because of ISAC's close links with AIMBE (American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering), as a member of the Council of Societies of AIMBE, we have access to the halls of power in Washington to ensure that the needs of the scientific community are foremost in the minds of legislators. J. Paul Robinson will be representing ISAC on Feb 28-29 in a number of congressional visits.
