The International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) is pleased to convey its support and endorsement of the proposed Framework for reporting methods and results for flow cytometry (FC) studies of extracellular vesicles (EVs). This consensus document, developed by more than two dozen researchers active in ISEV, ISAC, and ISTH and discussed in workshop sessions at their annual congresses, builds on existing Minimum Information guidelines including MIFlowCyt and MISEV and will help promote the effective use of FC-related technologies to study EVs. We also endorse the authors’ proposal to prepare a brief summary of these guidelines in the form of a Communication to Cytometry Part A so as to promote the Framework to the ISAC membership and wider cytometry community.
