ISAC is pleased to offer financial assistance opportunities to members for CYTO:

TRAVEL AWARDS

ISAC has established a fund for Students, Junior Shared Resource Lab (SRL), or core staff whose abstracts have been approved for either oral or poster presentation at the CYTO Congress and who require financial aid to attend. Interested students and staff should complete the online award application available when submitting your abstract.

CYTO FAMILY CARE ASSISTANCE AWARD

CYTO Family Care assistance for up to $500 per family is available for in-person CYTO Meeting attendees. The purpose of this program is to provide families with flexible financial assistance that can be applied towards extra expenses incurred for dependent care during the meeting. Meetings and conferences play a significant role in the professional development of young and experienced scholars alike. Attending CYTO allows cytometry professionals to enhance their research, forge new relationships with others, share knowledge, and help inspire the next generation of students to pursue a career in cytometry. The goal is to reduce attendance-related barriers and increase participation within our diverse community.

REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Current ISAC member (Bronze member or above)
• Register and attend the CYTO conference
• Documentation and proof of expense must be submitted

ELIGIBLE EXPENSES

Family Care funds can be used to cover the following expenses (copies of receipts will be required):

• Extra child/dependent care expenses incurred due to meeting attendance;
• Caregiver travel expenses to attendee’s home; 
• Dependent travel to caregiver’s location outside of the attendee’s home community.

INELIGBLE EXPENSES

• Regular child/dependent care expenses that would have been incurred had the applicant not attended the meeting;
• Spouse/caregiver travel-related expenses to locations other than attendee’s home;
• Travel or other expenses related to attendee’s participation in the meeting such as meeting registration, meals, housing, transportation costs, or other expenses the attendee would already be incurred by attending the meeting;
• Tickets for entertainment (parks, museums, etc.);
• Meals/Snacks.

SELECTING AND NOTIFYING RECIPIENTS

If the number of requests for Family Care funds exceeds the funding, preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers.  ISAC will attempt to notify approved recipients by March 15, 2024.

REIMBURSEMENT

Reimbursement of expenses will be in US Currency only. Completed expense forms and receipts must be submitted within 30 days of the last day of CYTO. Signed expense forms and receipts must be submitted via email to conference@isac-net.org. Expenses not turned in by the deadline will not be paid.

CHANGES IN CIRCUMSTANCES

If, between the time of submitting your application and the dates of the meeting, your needs for the grant changes, you must contact ISAC. Funding eligibility may change based on your circumstances.

Retired Discounts

Retired Bronze and Silver members will receive CYTO conference registration at a 40% discount.  This offer cannot be combined with any other discounts.

Please note, the final retiree discount price will be 40% off full CYTO cost.   

Criteria for eligibility for retired CYTO membership discount:

• Is retired from full-time employment.
• Has maintained ISAC membership for at least five consecutive years immediately preceding retired status.
• Maintain a minimum of Bronze Membership after approval for retired Member status.

Upon approval, you will be notified, your retiree status will be noted in the membership database, and you will receive an email with the CYTO registration link with discounted registration pricing.
