Scientific Interest and Avenues for Collaboration The ‘Cytometry Core Facility’ at the Sanger facilitates research though the provision of flow cytometric cell sorting and analysis, data analysis, and in help with experiment design. Recently I have been concentrating on streamlining facility management though task automation using simple computer programming. I have been using Python and R to, amongst other things, make reactive instrument bookings, automate instrument QC, and selectively communicate with users. Another of my interests is in discovering and using novel business information in the SRL setting, for which I currently use the program Tableau to visualize and communicate. I have started a course to teach R flow cytometry data analysis to non-bioinformaticians, which can be found on the facilities GitHub page. I plan to continue development of this to bring the advanced analysis modalities that are found in R into reach for non-programmers.
