Scientific Interest and Avenues for Collaboration
Joined as Assistant Professor in SORM from January 2019, involved in teaching M.Sc Regenerative Medicine and in developing state-of-the-art Flow cytometry and cell sorting and Cell imaging core facility
Areas of interest include Flow cytometry analyses and cell sorting for rare population detection and cellular proliferation studies, single cell sorting, circulating tumor cell detection, confocal and super-resolution microscopy technologies
Special interest: Facility management and setting up shared resource laboratory in FCM and Microscopy. Using the model concept of the “MYO” (Make your Own) cytometer, designed and conceptualized by William Telford, National Cancer Institute, NIH, USA as an educational tool to teach basics of flow cytometry to research students.
Teaching and training primarily has been my thrust area in India. It has been one of my major challenges to introduce the concept of shared resource laboratories among the mainstream researchers and uplift core facilities into laboratories for research and innovation. I would like to promulgate the SRL goals and concepts in our country that would further initiate other outreach programmes of ISAC.
