Wenyan Li is a Cytometry Innovation Specialist at the Children’s Cancer Institute in Sydney, Australia, working within the ACRF Children’s Cancer Liquid Biopsy Program. His work focuses on advancing cytometry and single-cell multi-omics technologies, with particular emphasis on developing practical analytical tools that bridge flow cytometry and sequencing data. Prior to this role, his research focused on fluorescence lifetime flow cytometry, followed by high-dimensional flow cytometry.

Scientific Interest and Avenues for Collaboration
Wenyan’s scientific interests include single-cell technologies and instrumentation, as well as multi-omics data integration. He is interested in collaborative efforts that advance the development and application of innovative cytometry platforms and analytical approaches.

Participation / Support of ISAC
Wenyan serves on the ISAC Membership Committee, contributing to initiatives that support engagement and growth within the cytometry community.

Wenyan applied to the Leadership Development Program to deepen his engagement with the cytometry community and to learn from experienced ISAC leaders how to translate technical innovation into improved characterization of single cells and more efficient, accessible assays. He is particularly interested in developing leadership skills that enable meaningful contributions to ISAC initiatives, collaborations, and educational activities.

Wenyan entered the field of cytometry during his PhD, where his research focused on fluorescence lifetime flow cytometry. This work provided a strong foundation in cytometric instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis, and led to further expertise in high-dimensional, spectral, and imaging flow cytometry.
