Editor-in-Chief

Bartek Rajwa, PhD is Editor-in-Chief of Cytometry Part A – the Journal of Quantitative Cell Science and a Research Professor of Computational Life Sciences and Bioinformatics at Purdue University’s Bindley Bioscience Center. Educated at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, Dr. Rajwa has been at Purdue since 2002, building a cross-disciplinary program that bridges biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, and multi-omics data integration with cutting-edge measurement technologies, including proteomics, metabolomics, genomics, lipidomics, biological imaging, and cytometry.

An expert in biological data science, multiomics, and single-cell analysis, his research leverages mathematical modeling and machine learning to reveal complex phenotypes from quantitative single-cell data with applications in clinical cytometry (hematology, immunology, oncology), high-content screening, drug discovery, toxicology, neuroscience, and agricultural biosurveillance (e.g., food fraud detection and biosecurity). Dr. Rajwa is a co-inventor of spectral flow cytometry—licensed by Sony and Thermo Fisher Scientific—and has developed automated flow-cytometry analysis approaches used in pharmaceutical compound screening, as well as algorithms for identifying food-borne pathogens and advancing fluorescence and Raman spectral processing.

As Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rajwa leads the journal’s editorial vision, upholding rigorous peer review and scientific integrity while expanding its global impact—advancing ISAC’s mission and strengthening Cytometry Part A as a premier venue for trustworthy, high-quality research in quantitative cell science.
