I am a highly driven researcher with an emphasis on how cytometry can be utilised to study different aspects of immunology. My research focus and interest lies in the clinical application of immunological studies to a range of human diseases. I am particularly passionate about applying recent technological advances such as high dimensional cytometric analysis (fluorescence-based cytometry, mass cytometry, imaging mass cytometry and genomic cytometry).

Following postdoctoral research at Stanford University, I pioneered mass cytometry and immune profiling in Australasia. As the universally acknowledged “go-to” person for mass cytometry in Australia, boasting an esteemed academic performance, I hold a strong standing in the scientific community. My output covers both research that applies cytometry to important problems and publications that support the development and promulgation of cytometric techniques – very much in line with the culture and goals of ISAC. Furthermore, I am committed to teaching, education and mentorship.

I relish the highly collaborative nature of research, and apply this same attitude to foster a strong commitment to building research community relationships. Locally I established and continue to organise monthly Mass Cytometry User group meetings that supports researchers across multiple institutions. I am also pleased to serve on the Sydney Cytometry Academic Advisory Committee, supporting cytometry facility governance structures at a university level.

I have been actively contributing to the Australasian Cytometry Society since 2015, in various roles such as Conference organiser (2016, 2021) and contributor (2013, 2015-2021), CYTOAsia 2017 contributor, Councillor (2017), Treasurer (2018-2019), and President (incoming 2020, current 2021-2022). I am most proud of the inception of our regular ACS Hour webinar series in 2020, borne out of COVID lock down necessity, which also saw our annual roadshow series, and 2021 conference pivot successfully to an online format.
I am an active member of ISAC, joining the Marylou Ingram Scholar program in 2019. I also contribute enthusiastically to the Associate Societies subcommittee (since 2020), have moderated CYTOU webinars (2019), scored abstracts and chaired CYTO sessions (2019-2021), and most recently serve on the Program Committee for CYTO2022.
